Prof Zhang Hongjie, Professor of School of Chinese Medicine and his team have discovered the natural compounds found in the Chinese medicine herb dendrobium can effectively whiten skin and protect it from damage. The team won a bronze medal at the 1st Asia Exhibition of Inventions Hong Kong and silver award by the eighth Bank of China (HK) Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries (FITMI) in 2018 respectively.
